At beginning of the semester I decided to take English IV because of the continuation of last semester´s course, what was English III. I think that is better to keep a rhythm of learning, in every aspect, but when we talk about english, that is another language for us and we probably don’t talk it everyday.

I was accustomed to be in the English class of school, but I like much more the way that we learn here, and specially this second semester's class because the most important is just to practice and talk, and have the possibility of ask for the meanings of the words that we don’t know. Sometimes after classes I have keep speaking in English or Spanglish, just joking but even there I was exercising.

The conversations and exercises on the class were good to think about how to build a sentence or an idea and how to express it, and that is always good, either in Spanish or English or any language. I’m not great on this, but I like to read or to listen things in English and I like to understand what I’m looking. Sometimes I’m listening songs in English, and I understand a new phrase that I have ignored before maybe just for the lack of listening practice.

I really would like to learn more about English, and maybe in some moment of my life go to live to another country where I can practice and learn the language in first person, and have a better pronunciation to can express better to myself.

I wouldn’t change nothing, everything is perfect here…

Ok , it isn’t.

I don’t like to complain about everything, but sometimes is hard not to do it, and it's because usually the things are so difficult to achieve. The main problem according to me, is the lack of time, and that is mainly caused by the quantity of work given. I would like to have more time and can make good works, and not like now that I make all of my works but “so-so”.

Well, it supposed that this year on Workshop the classes were going to be mixed, and for example one turn in was to be evaluated by Perception, Representation and by the architects (the work as a project), but in most of cases of teachers (excepting two or three), they have one turn in for each course previously mentioned.

Another aspect is the lack of theoretical classes about some important things, because teachers just ask for good works, but if they could dedicate just one day to really teach technical things to do better works, it would be great.

Maybe some people will kill me, but in Universidad Catolica, they have one mandatory course, just to relax and get distracted from the main career. I think that we should have that chance too, and can make some sports, or any activity that let us be more happy just for a couple of hours at week, and I’m sure that making these things everything would be easier.

My favourite artist.

Hello everyone

I don’t know how many times I have spoken about The Beatles, or mentioned them in my blog entries, but I’m going to do it again. This time I will talk about my favourite beatle, who is Paul McCartney.

I listen to The Beatles since 7 years ago and they are my favourite band. They are four, but Paul attracts to me more than the others, and I don´t know very well why is that. When I see their movies, Paul is more serious than the others but he is joking in every moment too, and that attitude is like “this guy is cool”.

I think that Paul is great too because he doesn´t know read sheet music, he’s just self- taught and I think that is very gifted, because he plays the bass guitar, guitar, piano, drums, and his voice is very versatile too.

He is now 74 years old and he is very healthy because he is a vegetarian. I’m not a vegetarian, but sometimes when your favourite artist do things, you are more interested on that things too, and I admire that he is healthy and the drugs or alcohol didn’t destroyed him at youth.

 Paul participated from an episode of the simpsons, and his condition was that Lisa must be a vegetarian for the rest of the serie and not just for some episodes. I think that type of actions are made by cool people.

Summer Holidays

Hello everyone

Well, it's very early to talk about holidays, because for me it will be on next February. I' m really hoping that time comes soon, because I feel so stressed and tired. The first that I'll do is sleep. Sleep so much. Well it’s like a wish, just sleep many hours a couple of days, and then start vacations but just after return to normal.

I don’t really know what I’m going to do, but I know that my first activity will be a wedding. A cousin will marry in Valparaiso, and I like weddings (mainly because of the food xD) so it will be a nice vacations start.

Then I would like to make some things with my girlfriend or friends, like go to the cinema or expositions (like in the cultural center of La Moneda). I like to ride the bike too, but my bike is broken now, so I have to fix it, and maybe that can be an vacation activity.

As I said before, I don’t know what I’m going to do, but if I can choose I would be happy to go to Puerto Montt again. I went there on last summer and it was really nice. I hope go there again, and go to Chiloe to eat some shellfish with that summer rain on the background, it was really beautiful.

 

Special talents

Hello everyone!

I like this topic. Not because I’m a very talented boy (I don´t think that), but I really enjoy to do things that people sometimes say to me “you are so cool bro”. One of these things are my imitations, and I used to do it all the time in the last semester. Almost everyday I used to say the same sentences that my teachers, with their voices and gestures and my classmates laugh a lot every time. “the new kramer” they said, but I think that is excessive.

I really enjoy the jokes, and I try to do it always and not cross the limits of the respect. I used to do memes too, and most of them were too about my teachers and some situations that we lived on workshop. I’ll going to show you some of them. (I had to translate them to show it here)

He is Pablo, the teacher's assistant that helped so much to all of us. Everyone trusted in him and his corrections.

I made this one day that the teacher taught us about photoshop and he started with the most basic. I made this during he was speaking, and I send it to the whatsapp group. As you should think, everyone laughed.

Honestly, I don't know why I made this lol. Well,actually I know, I made it because in the original photo appears that shine on his head, so...

Well, as you can see, I love make people laugh, and I do this kind of absurdities :)  I like to think that is my special talent.

Postgraduate studies

Architecture wasn’t my first option to study since always. When I was younger I wanted to do so many other things. In some time of my life I wanted to be a chef, a painter, and an actor. But from these things, I think that acting is the most important for me.

Before that I decided to study architecture (when I was finishing secondary) I was thinking in study theater. I like to do voices and imitations, and play to be another people, so maybe theater could be a good career for me too. As I said on my last blog entry, I would like to do stages for plays (using my whole knowledge about architecture), and if I learn theater too, it could be interesting to mix both.

I like the comedy and making people laugh, but I don’t know if I’m capable to make stand-up comedy. 

If you don’t know, the comedy is the hardest type of theater. I play the guitar and some instruments, so I would like to participate in a group like Les Luthiers. They are a group of Argentinean musicians and comedians, and they mix music with intelligent humor. I laugh a lot when I see their videos, and I would like to work putting smiles on the faces

. 

My future job

Hello

As you may know I´m studying architecture, so is easy to think that I want to work being an architect. I used to think that too, but I’m not that sure. I would like to do another things, not instead of architecture but besides. For me, architecture is not just make buildings and I would really like to use my knowledge (or future knowledge) to create usable and beautiful things made of wood, like furniture or related.

 I like the indoor work, and is not a problem to me to work in a room with a computer or a big table with draws, but I wouldn’t must to work like that. I don’t know if my dream job is make houses. I would like to do more than one activity. Give talks to young people maybe in a little school about anything, or work in set design for plays.  

I don’t know, I’m a indecisive person, so I can’t tell you about what would be THE job that I want. I just want to earn money that let me live quiet and with some taste once in a while. The good news are that now I’m in time to learn and decide what I like more, and well…Just have to wait to face the future with optimism and trusting in the things that I’m learning now.
